Pregnancy is an exciting and new time in any woman’s life. Although it is a joyful experience it can also be a challenging and stressful time. The mother's body is changing quickly to meet the needs of the growing child. This is a time when she starts to think more about her health and getting fit and well. This is where the Complementary Health Practitioner comes into action!
As a Complementary Practitioner, it is vital to be fully educated and trained before working on anyone who is pregnant, particularly with the impending changes in standards and regulations within the industry. This includes learning all about the incredible changes in the anatomy and physiology that occurs throughout the 9 months, and also about any contraindications to treatments. In addition, most practitioner insurance does not cover for Maternity work unless a specific Maternity qualification has been achieved.
Rima has developed, written and teaches these 3 new accredited Maternity diploma courses. These courses are unique as they devote a whole weekend to the Theory of pregnancy followed by a full weekend focused on the practical aspects.
All of the Maternity Practitioner Diploma courses will give you the full confidence and training to become a competent Maternity Practitioner. You will feel fully informed to confidently treat any pregnant client, and be aware of any complications and reasons for not treating.
The Diplomas will also be highly beneficial if you want to approach NHS and private hospitals, Birthing Centres and GP Surgeries, as it will show your commitment to further training and education as a specialist in your field.
The courses fully cover conception, pregnancy, labour and post natal treatments. These diplomas also cover Maternity Anatomy & Physiology over a whole weekend, which is far more than on most other courses.
The Theory weekend, covering maternity anatomy and physiology, is a pre-requisite for all the diploma courses. Once this weekend has been completed you can go onto whichever practical weekend you would like to do – Reflexology or Massage. The massage weekend will need to be completed before you can do the Aromatherapy Diploma.
There are a number of assessments that will need to be completed to qualify for the diploma, which includes case studies, written exam, home study and an essay.
The Diplomas cover the following:
