What is Pregnancy Massage?

Pregnancy Massage and Aromatherapy treatments are tailored to care for the mind, body and spirit. This can start as early as preconception, and then is carried out through pregnancy, labour and the post-natal period.

Aromatherapy is a safe and practical therapy for pregnant people, which can be safely used throughout pregnancy if done by a qualified Maternity Aromatherapist.

Pregnancy Aromatherapy Massage may help to energise and balance, aiding a healthier pregnancy.

Calm and Clear Complementary Therapies® Pregnancy Massage & Aromatherapy can help during:

Regular Pregnancy Aromatherapy Massages can be very beneficial at any stages of pregnancy if done by a qualified Pregnancy Aromatherapy Practitioner. The Pregnancy Massage from an Aromatherapist will provide a luxurious hour of uninterrupted indulgence and pampering, which in turn may aid some of the various problems that occur while pregnant.

Each Pregnancy Massage will be safely tailored, so it may be on a massage couch, or on a chair if necessary. Cushions and bolsters are used for comfort and safety. If it is on a massage couch, you will be asked to lie on your side if you are into the later part of your pregnancy and you are no longer able to lie on your front.

At home while you are pregnant you can use essential oils in a massage oil, in the bath, in the shower or in a diffuser to fragrance a room – never as a douche. Blended oils for pregnancy and babies are of a lower strength than normally blended oils. Please consult your aromatherapist or a good book before using them at home.

Pregnancy Massage and Pregnancy Aromatherapy may aid the following problems during the pregnancy:

Essential Oils can also be used in the delivery room as a massage during labour, and also in an oil burner to aid relaxation. The use of essential oils and Aromatherapy during labour is now used in many different birth centres in hospitals, as it has been recognised to aid relaxation. Please speak to your midwife to check if this is possible when planning your birth plan.

If you are in doubt about any aspect of aromatherapy you should seek the advice of a professional Aromatherapist.

After Your Arrival – Postnatal

Life with a new baby can be difficult for both parents. You will have many sleepless nights, nappy changes, feeding etc, whilst still trying to juggle the rest of your life! This can cause a great deal of stress to both parents, as well as a new set of hormones and a rebalance of the other hormones.

Aromatherapy can be invaluable in helping with all the problems, for all parents and caregivers.
