Who is Menopause Reflexology for?
This is for anyone who may be experiencing symptoms due to Peri-menopause, menopause, post menopause or premature ovarian failure.
This is a great way to support the symptoms in a complementary and integrative way.
How does Menopause Reflexology work?
The care is focused around the people rather than symptoms.
We combine conventional medical and complementary therapies together which focus on treating the whole person, rather than just isolated symptoms.
This is called "integrative medicine".
Menopause reflexology uses specific and prescriptive treatment protocols to address what is currently best for you.
This includes providing support for:
- Specific symptoms
- Advice for homecare
- Advice regarding self-care
What happens during a Menopause Reflexology treatment?
When you first contact us we will send you links to complete out detailed consultation forms and questionnaires.
At the first appointment we will go into things in more detail, using the completed questionnaires and any medical results. From this it will provide a better picture about the best way to proceed with the reflexology for you.
Once the consultation is done you will receive the reflexology session.
You will be asked to relax in a reclined position, either on a massage couch or recliner, in a darkened room and made as comfortable as possible with blankets and pillows and soft music.
The feet will then be treated using the specific finger/thumb microstimulation technique of the pressure points. Either an oil based balm or powder may be used on the areas that are being worked on. The type of movements and pressures will vary throughout and will be personalised for your needs at that time.
During the treatment you may feel some tenderness or textures in certain parts of the feet, or possibly around the body.
Follow up and after care advice will be given at the end of the session, and possibly some “homework”, where you will be shown how to work specific points on your hands yourself in between treatments. General lifestyle advice, including dietary advice will also be given related to your individual needs.
Following the session you will be emailed more detailed information and advice regarding your treatments and discussions will be made about the best schedule of treatments for your needs.
Further follow up treatments are 1 hour long, where the focus will vary each time.
